Certification Renewal

You can now renew CPTN Certification status online through this renewal form. You will be required to submit the appropriate documents to CPTN through mail or e-mail, please view our contact page for address information.

Instructions

Accumulate Continuing Education Credits (CECs) (7 for one year renewal, 14 for two year renewal).
Update CPR and First Aid certifications if required. Expiration date must be current at time of renewal.
Submit CEC petitions for non-CPTN courses or conferences prior to renewal.
Keep copies of certificates of completion from CPTN approved courses on file by year.
Complete the renewal form with the CEC petition information received from CPTN.

Note: Copies of all CEC documents including CPR and First Aid information will be required for submission to CPTN through mail or e-mail. CECs may not be carried over (banked) to the next recertification period. Seven CEC is the minimum requirement for one year renewal and 14 for two year renewal.

Additional Credits

Current AED Certification Card (1 credit – no petition required)
Certificate of attendance at a fitness convention (up to 7 credits - petition required for events that are not pre-approved for CPTN CEC).
CEC petitions for other relevant courses.

Note: Non-CPTN courses must be petitioned using our CEC Petition Form (PDF, 36KB) prior to renewal. There is a processing fee of $15 per course/event/conference petitioned. You require 7 CECs to renew for 1 year or 14 CECs to renew for 2 years. One hour of continuing education equals 1 CPTN CEC. A petition may be granted up to a maximum of 7 CEC per course/event/conference petitioned.
