Group Fitness Leader Certification
Prerequisites:
CPTN Certified Group Fitness Leader Candidates Must:
- Be age 18 or older.
- Hold current First Aid (STANDARD or EMERGENCY) certification.
- Hold current Adult-Child-Infant CPR C/AED certification.
Description
The CPTN Group Fitness Leader workshop for non-personal trainers is designed for future group leaders. This course provides the skills required to teaching a variety of group fitness classes, whether it is in a large facility studio or in-house boutique small group training.
You Will Learn:
- how to teach in bootcamp, tabata/HIIT, circuit training, total muscle conditioning, Hi/Lo choreographed class,
- how to improve verbal/non-verbal communication skills,
- how to understand musicality (i.e. cueing to different types of music, tempo),
- how to apply music that is appropriate for the different teaching modalities listed above),
- how to practice cueing to phrases and appropriate directional changes,
- how to design phrased combinations,
- how to create, build and break down choreography,
- how to motivate participants by adopting different methods of teaching.
